Amtrak: screw me once…

I’m in Newark Penn Station for an hour, because the train I was counting on is sold out. Before this year it’s hard for me to recall this ever happening, and I’ve learned my lesson: lock in plans, reserve a seat the day before.
The train station seems to be more full than usual of people who are unclear on the concept of trains: it travels on a rail, meaning that if it left (there), barring some highly unusual occurrence, it will indeed arrive (here) eventually. Where else is it going to go? Just watched two anxious people in a row asking, in effect, are you SURE it’s coming? Yes, ma’am, we’re sure.
