EBook transcoding hilarity
June 22nd, 2010 at 9:31 am ETIn the Kindle eBook I’m currently reading, the character sequence “span” has mysteriously been converted into “em” — apparently in an odd case of confusion (presumably by some machine entity involved in the encoding) between text and markup. As a result, the word “emish” appears throughout the book, and it isn’t until a third of the way through that I’ve understood what the hell it is.
